These were the cover notes:

This tells the story of how Opher Goodwin was selected by aliens to save the world. The visitors from afar had scoured the universe in search of life and intelligence. They found it on a planet called Earth, where, unfortunately, the dominant life form was trying it’s best to wipe itself – and everything else – out.

The aliens set about selecting a saviour and installing him as Global President. They chose the unlikely hero Opher Goodwin. Opher and his friends from the pub had all of the immense problems of the world on their shoulders plus the vicious opposition of the existing establishment. Against such odds – could they possibly succeed?

What was it that made Opher the chosen one?

Featured Book – Sorting The Future – A Sci-Fi Novel – some thoughts

I have never written a book anything like this. I made myself the central character and even used some biographical detail like walking the dog and meeting up with friends to solve all the world’s problems. But this is a Sci-Fi novel.

It started as a whimsy. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were panaceas for all the world’s problems? Wouldn’t it be nice if one could be eighteen again? Wouldn’t it be great if a benevolent alien culture appeared to make everything great?

Well that set me off. I described it as a yarn which put some people off. I suppose it is a tall tale. But it does have dark aspects and a bit of pathos too. As the story unfolds there are many twists and turns. The strength of the novel is in the telling of the story.

Format: Paperback
Another great book by Opher Goodwin. His writing just gets better and better and this a great story. Exciting and moving. A tale you will want to read from beginning to end in one sitting. I really recommend this book and feel certain that it will be a real success for Opher.
