A Populist Leader
What I want is a populist leader
Like Trump, Johnson and Bolsonaro –
A plucky little bleeder.
A man who will stand up for me
And be down with the people
So that we all agree.
A man who knows everything
Like how to fight a virus
And get the troops to sing.
So give me a populist man,
A man who can pull the wool,
A man with a plan!
Not just an opportunist or a chancer,
A psychopathic narcissist,
But someone with an answer.
What I crave is a real populist,
Not a competent politician;
A charlatan who’s lazy – really hit and miss.
