We headed out to a park – strange ducks and a guy charming snakes.

I don’t like zoos.

I do like Gerald Durrell. One of my heroes,

Gerald Durrell set up a ‘zoo’ in Jersey. He designed it and tried to make it as natural as possible so that the wildlife, instead of being imprisoned, was free.

Of course, he failed. But it is fifty times better than any zoo I’ve seen and the animals looked well-cared for and happy.

Geese, Ducks and Emus.

We stopped at a pottery and they specialised in rare ducks and geese with a few emus thrown in for good measure. I had to take some shots. Not what you expect at a pottery.
