Same rubble. Different bodies.
Same Generals. Same reasons.

Watching America tearing itself apart in a agony of fascism.
Trump presiding over the death throes of democracy, an evil presence lurking, scummy deals, threats and power, power, power as he scams the people.
It’s like watching Hitler and the rise of the Nazi Party.
Eyes are forced open wide to receive the acid, the bayonet or fist. Minds are shut.
Division and hate, fury and violence.
Don’t kill the unborn babies but shoot all those who want freedom.
Burn the books.
God loves us but not them.
Truth is forbidden
Truth is forbidden
Kindness banned
People turned to hate.
Liberate the truth
Unlock kindness
Before too late.
They are the termites
We are the aardvark
We cleanse the soul.
They live to break
We live to mend

I was watching the way the Nazis work, the debasing of the individual, the uniforms, the synchronised salutes. The rigid authoritarian hierarchy, fear and hate.
Those at the top strutting. Those at the bottom in fear.
A relentless machine of aggression and fury consuming the spirit; a machine of purity and discrimination.
A regime of sterile conformity.
Fear-ridden, burning of books, suppression and oppression.
Where books burn people soon follow.
God’s Bolt
As with all my novels this started with a couple of ideas which bumped together.
The first idea began with an idle thought: could I write a novel with just one character?
That led me to wonder where that character might be. I came up with the idea of them being marooned on a space station. That led me to question how they had come to be marooned.
The second whimsy was: could I get a novel to work, to have development and dynamics, if I started at the end?
Before I knew it I had the scenario for God’s Bolt – a Sci-Fi novel.
I invented my character. Then I ran into the problems. She had to have a back story and that necessarily involved other characters. My first idea became slightly adulterated by other characters.
By then it was too late. The juices were flowing. I had a plot. One thing led to another and I began trying to catch up with where my mind was taking me.
While I did not quite succeed at just having one character I did get quite close. I was more successful at starting from the end and did think the dynamics worked.

The Covid enquiry is revealing the complete level of incompetence and cynical stupidity at the heart of government.
This bunch of fanatical nationalists were just obsessed with their loony, lying policy of Getting Brexit done at any cost. They applied their racist, xenophobic mindset to creating a lousy deal just so they could get out. Never mind the cost.
They lied, cheated and conned us all.
Then, full of public schoolboy euphoria at having dumped our trade partners, they were hit by Covid.
Having got rid of every sane member they were left with a dithering haystack and blithering bunch of public schoolboys who didn’t have a clue. So they dithered and blathered. They dumped infected people in Care Homes, Gave tens of billions away to their chums in VIP lanes, left the NHS and Care Homes in the lurch, had us banging pans while they partied and Rishi brought in schemes like EAT OUT TO DIE!!
They were saved by the scientists creating a vaccine!!
Reading back through my blog the full extent of their lies, corruption and incompetence is frightening!!
