Poetry – A Bumbling Clown with a Haystack on his Head

A Bumbling Clown with a Haystack on his Head

There’s this bumbling clown

With a haystack on his head.

A Bullingdon boy

Who takes the girls to bed.

A lazy blusterer

Who can’t remember what he said.

He blusters away

With great enthusiasm

Throwing in some Latin

That he thinks we’ll never fathom.

When it comes to action

It’s all off the cuff.

Mistake after mistake

Until we’ve had enough.

He blunders and shambles

With a cheeky grin

As if we’ll forget

The mess he’s got us in.

The bumbling fool

With a haystack on his head

Has let covid free

With forty three thousand dead!
