During the war my father was stationed in Naples with an Italian family. He spent years there as a dispatch rider and would have ridden all over this area. That Italian family treated him as a son. It is very nostalgic for me to return to the area and explore to see some of the places he would have known
Sunrise over the mountains of Sorrento as seen from our room.
Across the bay to Vesuvius.
A city built on cliffs of volcanic ash with beaches of ash and seas of aquamarine.
A city nestling in among the mountains, presided over by an active volcano and built upon thick solidified ash that has emanated from that volcano (and will likely do so again).
Vibrant colours, huge lemons, a bit of a religious theme and busking.

What a beautiful place!!
Second time we’ve been there and we love it.
