Big news in Harperspace – I’ve been asked to be a musical guest on this Saturday’s edition of Loose Ends on BBC Radio 4. A prestigious gig indeed. SPREAD THE WORD.
From the Beeb: “Lesley Sharp, Harlan Coben, Stephen Rea and Jeremy Hardy join Clive Anderson for lively conversation. Includes music by Charles Bradley and Nick Harper.”
I hereby promise that I will add lively music to that conversation.
The show runs from 6:15-7pm UK time but you can listen worldwide. More info and the ‘listen again’ stream (available a few hours after the show airs) can be found on the BBC Radio 4 site here:

It is about time that the world woke up to the genius of Nick Harper. He is a national, undiscovered treasure. The greatest guitarist on the planet and a brilliant singer/songwriter!
I hope this helps get him the recognition he deserves.

Reblogged this on Opher's World and commented:
Don’t forget to check out Nick!!!
Sorry don’t listen to that programme, have heard of it though. Your friend Nick I don’t know his work so can’t comment.
He is very good. Are you still listening to Jackson?
Oh yes I still play Jackson, he reminds me of Rod in some ways (you probably guessed that anyway), I wish he had made more recordings though, sad way to end his life.
Yes – some people have tragic lives and some have it easy.
Sometimes Opher, it is not easy to see behind the mask and if you do well what you do you must be careful, such pain some people have inside.
Yes. I know. It is hard because if you write like I do then you are going to touch nerves all round. That can open wounds and create problems. I’m not sure what the answer is. Sometimes I feel it is walking a tightrope.
Can I guess? Be honest that’s what you have to do, maybe the truth will hurt sometime, yes it does but as long as others know you are being honest well for one I would prefer to be that and to know someone is being as honest as they can – there is discomfort when someone is honest but better that than lies, I hate lies I have endured so many, but as long as you are not cruel with your words don’t set out to hurt deliberately well than write and write with truth, words can always be like being on a tightrope. I have always preferred someone who says what they mean rather than someone who just comes out with words for the sake of it. I guess I offend but I won’t lie.
I think you’ve summed it up. I don’t like hurting or upsetting people but I don’t mind offending. I think being totally honest is what I try to do. There is too much pussy-footing around. I tend to be a little opinionated as you well know.
Just taking time off to listen to Nick Harper!
You are not opinionated, I had no idea, not you surely!! Enjoy listening to your friend.
Just listened to him. A lovely song and little interview. He deserves far greater recognition. He is quality. Here’s to N I C K H A R P E R !!!
