Poetry – Living the Local Covida

Living the Local Covida

Spring came in the same,

                Nothing had changed,

In the birds refrain,

Blossoms, wind and rain,

But there’s a new shadow in the day.

Stay inside, don’t go outside.

We’re living the local covida.

Borne on the wind,

Or in the handshake of a friend

Lurks a new fiend

A new viral blend

Who will take your breath away.

Stay inside, don’t go outside.

We’re living the local covida.

At this time of rebirth

                Torn from the earth

As we sit round the hearth,

What is life worth?

                It wants us to play.

Stay inside, don’t go outside.

We’re living the local covida.

We’re living the local covida.

A time to reflect on what we have been doing to the planet. A time to reassess.

Perhaps we need to do things differently? To respect nature? To respect people?

What is life worth?
