A beautiful place to visit.

Klaksvik – The Faroes – heading down the Fjord

After a soggy day in Klaksvik we headed off down the fjord heading for the Shetlands. Goodbye green volcanic landscape!

Fabulous Judy Collins at the Cottingham Folk Festival

Judy is a legend. At 83 years of age, she is performing as well as ever. Her voice was perfect. With tales and jokes, she regaled the audience with a touch of class.

Judy goes back to the fabulous early sixties days of Greenwich Village, in the days of the young Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, David Blue and Phil Ochs. She popularised the songs of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell before they were heard of.

So great to see and hear this living legend in Cottingham! Better than ever!

Klaksvik – The Faroes – the old part – turf-covered houses.

The turf-covered roofs are so very different – only in this climate! They are picturesque. It does give an impression of what things used to be like long ago when this place was just a handful of houses, a tiny fishing community.

Glaciers and volcanoes in Iceland.

We drove off from the Godafoss falls towards the geothermal wonders of Geysir. Everywhere was volcanoes, lava flows and glaciers.

More Rainbows over the Godafoss Falls in Iceland

I do like rainbows and nature. These were spectacular.

The town nestles in the tip of an Icelandic fjord.
