Pulling out of Lerwick

We sailed away in the evening sunshine. The town looked beautiful. Wish I could have stayed for longer.

Looking back at Lerwick

Lerwick felt very Scottish. I loved it.

Through the streets of Lerwick – Shetlands.

A picturesque town with a Presbyterian feel.

The Shetlands – Lerwick

On a sunny summer’s day the grey stone of Lerwick looked inviting. The Viking boat moored in the harbour spoke of a populist nod to history dressed up for the tourists. A garage with an upturned boat as a roof was a novelty.

The place was beautiful but had a touch of religious austerity and puritanism.

Approaching Lerwick in the Shetlands.

The sun was shining as we approached Lerwick. It looked beautiful.
