Epstein – What does this tell you?

Peter Mandelson appears in 5,938 documents in the Epstein files. He was sacked, is the centre of a political storm that could bring down the British government, his reputation is shot and he is subject to police investigation.

Prince Andrew appears over 300 times. He has been kicked out of the Royal family, trashed in the media, his reputation is tarnished, he is subjected to widespread condemnation, stripped of titles and kicked out of his home.

Trump appears 36,000 times and nothing happens.

What happens when you criticise Israel’s Genocide policy in Gaza.

I don’t mind a heated rational debate. That’s what blogging is about.

Hamas as a deplorable terrorist organisation that deserves to be wiped out.

To take and keep hostages is disgusting. They should be returned immediately.

What Hamas did in their brutal actions is inexcusable. |Attacking and slaughtering, torturing and maiming. They are inhuman. IMO They are scum.

The Palestinians who support such actions are deplorable.

But I contend that Netanyahu with his extreme right-wing coalition are just as bad.

They have a right to fight and destroy Hamas.

They do not have a right to bomb civilians, hospitals and schools even if Hamas are hiding there!

They do not have a right to bomb civilians.

They do not have a right to starve people and deprive them of water.

They do not have a right to turn Gaza into one gigantic bomb site.

This is as bad as Putin in Ukraine.

Retaliation should be appropriate, justified and proportionate? I think not!

Anybody who defends the starving or deliberate murdering of women and children is, in my opinion, morally corrupt.

Anybody who tries to justify genocide of Palestinians because of the Holocaust, pogroms, antisemitism or past war crimes is despicable. Two wrongs never make a right. Disgusting things happened in the past; they do not justify equally disgusting things.

I’ve deliberately left the comments from our extreme right-wing ‘friend’ up on my site. You judge!

They like to dish it out!

But they don’t like to take it! As soon as anyone attacks their lies and vitriol they start to bleat!

Typical bully!

We’ve had a whole stream of nastiness, rudeness, abuse, lies, accusations and conspiracy but Trump doesn’t like to be challenged!

Where is the fact checking? Where is the scrutiny? Where is the accountability?

All bullies start to blub when caught out!

Poetry – An Endless Poem

An Endless Poem

Endless seas

To sail to infinity and over the edge

To dump our garbage and swill

With ease.

Endless skies

To carry the sighs of our smoke

And the winds would carry off ours woes

And cries.

Endless trees

Forests like oceans of waving pleas

To chop and clear and burn

As we please.

Endless water

For our industrial waste to sully

The crystal clear gully with sour taste

And never falter

Endless meat

To tease and tame, butcher and kill

To have our fill and leave to rot

Not eat.

Endless room

To spread into and conquer.

Wilderness and forest both incur

The gloom.

Endless life

To squander, waste and fill

With party kisses, frivolity without taste

And strife.

But now it is our numbers that are endless

Our technology that reduces space and time

We have machines to commit any crime

Endless has an end that is far less.

An Endless Poem

Everywhere I look there are people, slums, dirt, garbage and beauty. Such a short while ago the planet was so huge, the great oceans a voyage of years and the endless jungles impenetrable. The waters were pure and life in such teeming abundance that we took it all for granted. Beauty was extant.

Beauty is there but it is on the run. Where it is preserved it is tidied up and served up to be consumed and devoured by the hordes. Nowhere is inaccessible. We are a sphere of tourist attraction.

And still the numbers grow, the human tide sweeps through the beautiful and leaves a wake of plastic and concrete, garbage and shit.

Every time I hear of a new vaccine or scientific invention that will save countless lives I sigh. The one thing we do not need is more people. Perhaps the plague would be preferable?

I do not like feeling that. On the personal level I can appreciate the agony of sickness and death, particularly for our children. I am filled with compassion. I would sacrifice anything for mine. But I fear we are sacrificing the world and it is too high a price.

There are too many of us.

What was once endless is now palpably limited. Yet we continue to plunder, destroy, slaughter and pollute as if it was infinite.

In my short life I have witnessed destruction of the environment on an industrial scale. The common animals become rare or extinct and the wilderness is tamed.

The world has changed from an infinite universe to a tiny ball in space.

Still our numbers grow, nature is destroyed and we carry on mindlessly.

Poetry – The Great Ape

The Great Ape

I am the great ape

Who grew an imagination.

I imagined god

And I imagined a nation.

I imagined money

Music and fashion.

I am the great ape

Who grew an imagination.

Opher – 13.9.2020

I blame it on religion.

We have lost sight of what we really are. We are apes.

Nothing more.

Intelligent apes.

We have this absurd notion that we are superior to every other form of life.

We are not.

We are apes.

We feel we are separate from the web of life that exists upon this planet. We are not.

We are apes.

We are part of the great web of life that has evolved.

We invented this notion that we were specially created by some god and alone, out of all the creatures on the planet, have a soul.

This is wrong.

We are apes.

We have no soul.

We evolved on this planet the same as every other creature.

We think that all life was put on this planet for us to use and abuse at will.

It wasn’t.

It evolved the same as us and has the same right to live as we have.

We think that all over life is so inferior it does not think or feel. So we can torture and slaughter it with impunity.

That is wrong.

They feel. They feel as much as us.

We are apes. No better, no worse.

The sooner we understand that the better.
