Poetry – The Jolly Profiteer

The Jolly Profiteer

There was a jolly profiteer

Who gained his wealth from threats and fear,

But no decent people would come near

The jolly profiteer.

Every crisis was a dare

For him to gamble with his shares

From Brexit, Corvid and elsewhere

The profiteer showed great flair.

He robbed the pennies from the poor,

Kicking children out the door,

Profiting from starvation and war,

Money was all that he cared for.

There was a jolly profiteer

Who gained his wealth from threats and fear

But no decent people would come near

The jolly profiteer.
