Poetry – The Global Patriot

The Global Patriot

I’m the global patriot!

I want the very best

For me and all of mine

As well as all the rest!

Without fear or boundaries;

No war or poverty,

Plenty of love

And sharing responsibly.

I’m the global patriot!

I want the very best

For me and all of mine

As well as all the rest!

Nothing wrecked for greed

Or tortured out of cruelty.

Plenty of laughs

And great creativity.

I’m the global patriot!

I want the very best

For me and all of mine

As well as all the rest!

A world of caring and compassion

With the best of altruism

Suited most perfectly

To the aims of global patriotism

I’m the global patriot!

I want the very best

For me and all of mine

As well as all the rest!

I believe in equality and fairness. I do not believe people are intrinsically different. It is merely a question of culture and upbringing. Uproot a child and place him or her in a different culture and they will fit in.

I think nations create divisions.

I would like to see global approaches to solve the world’s problems. I think nations get in the way.

In the future we’ll all be one big family.

I’m extremely patriotic for the whole of life.

  1. And so say all of us! We should live in hope Opher that the prevailing Dark Ages of human-kind will be superseded by enlightenment, understanding, and wisdom. ‘Tis time global civilization advanced.

I’ll leave you this inspired quote by Michael Collins, Apollo 11 Astronaut.

“I really believe that if the political leaders of the world could see their planet from a distance of, let’s say 100,000 miles, their outlook would be fundamentally changed. The all-important border would be invisible, that noisy argument suddenly silenced. The tiny globe would continue to turn, serenely ignoring its subdivisions, presenting a unified façade that would cry out for unified understanding, for homogeneous treatment. The earth must become as it appears: blue and white, not capitalist or communist; blue and white, not rich or poor; blue and white, not envious or envied.”

    Have a great week.

      1. You’re welcome Opher: I thought it eloquent and expansive.

What a delicious alternative to myopia, hypermetropia (far-sightedness) and vision would be: leading to a unified world; one knowing peace and harmony. ‘Tis a beautiful thought.

        Who is Leroy?

      2. Leroy is a friend from an American site I used to go on, post things and get into arguments with Trumpists and climate deniers, great fun. Leroy was one of them.
If only we were all able to see everything clearly – what a great world it would be.
