How to not be duped!

  1. Do not believe what the rich and powerful tell you.
  2. Do not believe what the media owned by the rich and powerful tells you.
  3. Do not believe the politicians who represent the rich and powerful.
  4. Look at what the politicians vote for, who the money goes to, who picks up the bill, who is better off, who is worse off, what happens to public services and whether it is fair or not and make up your own mind.

    1. I mean all politicians Anna – particularly Tories. Their Tory lies have always been bigger. I remember well Thatcher’s speech quoting St Francis of Assissi about bring harmony when she was plotting with Ridley to cause division and mayhem. I remember Theresa May’s speech about bringing equality – the entire Equality board resigned today because she’s done nothing.
      Tory lies are massive whoppers.
Corbyn says what he believes. I trust him more than I’ve trusted any of them since Tony Benn.

    1. The actions of the parties match the reasons for their inception.
The Tories were set up to protect the interests of the rich. They run down public services and give tax breaks to their friends.
The Labour Party was set up by the workers for the workers. They put up taxes, improve public services and put things into national ownership so that the profits go to the people not the few.
If you look at successive governments you can see this in operation. If the media didn’t obfuscate and lie and the wealthy didn’t disrupt and do all in their power to undermine we’d all see it more clearly.

      1. Everyone would see it except the voters who honon gleefully supporting the Tories because they think there’s something inherently evil about social equity.

      2. I can only assume they have been brainwashed. Turkeys gleefully voting for Christmas. ‘What equality and fairness? – That will never work! – Give me the Tories and Aristocracy they know how to run things!’
Nowt so blind as them that refuse to see.

  1. It’s an interesting blog you have here. I found it the other when looking for info on Zoot Horn Rollo.
I live in the US and I’m not qualified to comment on Tory v Labour.
Over here what we clearly have, to quote Jimmy Carter is “an Oligarchy”. And, it defies party lines or platforms. i.e. it doesn’t matter who is voted in or thrown out, the result are part of the same ominous continuity with a few bits here and there thrown out as red meat fodder for the two party’s rank and file…the odd social issue compromise for Democrats, an occasional tax cut for Republicans, for examples. But, in the end the course moves forward to benefit the banking cartel and big business.
Regarding points 1-3, it’s easy for an individual to disregard the rich, the media and politicians.
Point 4 however, has more complexity. Who the money goes to, who pays, who is better off, public services etc. reflect the Global theology of Keynesian Economics and the movement towards Tri-Lateral style Technocracy in that, the focus is on groups of people rather than individual’s choices. Part of that is a result of decades of social and cultural engineering, the product of this is more group-think and less thought on personal freedom.
    Best to you.

    1. Well I’m glad you found it. Zoot is one of my heroes.
Thanks for the response to my post. I look forward to further interaction. All the best to you too.
