    1. Yes – Elvis was certainly ripped off right left and centre. His manager and the Memphis mafia were not in it for him. But I think he had a good time none-the-less.

    1. He knew he was being taken for a ride but I don’t think he knew who to trust. He surrounded himself with people he knew before he was famous – on the basis that they liked him for who he was. But they were none too bright and were also turned by the money. I think it did make him very sad.

  1. Of course it made him sad. Knowing he was being used, and couldn’t do anything about it. Greed turns peoples heads, I know I have seen it. There was no real love for him and that he knew, the only one that really loved him was his Mother, as is the case with many of these talented people.
