Great news!! After much consideration I have finally made a decision on which choice to make! I discussed the options with my editor and decided on the minor modifications that solved the problem. We felt that the fast flow of the book was paramount. That it was essential to keep it as a light and speedy read.
I think it works!! I am also getting a great number of positive responses. People are greatly enjoying it.

Good to hear … only a minor glitch, I’d imagine!
It was the question of the narrator and those five chapters of Liz, the kids and the pub that you pointed out. We deliberated as to how to deal with the dilemma you pointed out. In the end we decided that a short paragraph at the beginning of the problem solved it well enough. We were loathe to do a change of narrators or person as we both felt that the flow and simplicity of the writing created pace and to mess about with that might detract. I think we got round it.
Thanks for pointing it out Dave. It caused some interesting discussion.
Thought you’d go that way … the Liz element provides a nice counterweight to the Opher storyline.
I liked the way it flowed. It seemed natural. It all came out in one long splurge. All I had to do was tidy it up and rework it a bit. But I liked the pace and lightness. The liz perspective gave it a little bit of reality on which to hang the fantastic.
