Another singer-songwriter who was hailed as the new Bob Dylan when he first started out. He was a Covid-19 victim. Very sad.

Today I’ll play some John Prine.

  1. Really enjoyed his music. I hadn’t heard of him before but I can see the similarities between his music and Dylan’s. RIP.

    1. Back in the 70s they were all looking for the next Dylan and any songwriter who turned up (Loudon Wainwright, John Prine, Bruce Springsteen) was hailed as the next Bob Dylan. It became a bit of a joke.

      2. They never really found one – there’s only one Bob Dylan. But they did find a lot of other great songwriters.
