I wonder why it is that poor old Santa cops more flak than some other fairy tales. I’ve just finished reading a book about the origins of many of the Christmas traditions and tales. Most of them are a lot darker than our modern jolly old Santa
I know. We tend to sanitise a lot in our modern world. I wonder about our views on pirates too! Nasty people.
Real or imagined? Real ones are very nasty. The likes of the Pirates of the Carribean are loveable villians, as is Dr Hook ….
Why do we take such despicable people and make them into loveable characters?
Sanitise them?
