Quantum Fever – the back cover blurb.

Quantum Fever is a disease of people who jump the weird reaches of quantum space.

Is Tahsin Roeg suffering from Quantum Fever or is ‘the Consortium’ seeking to control her?

What of the alien planet she discovers?

Were ‘the Primitives’ going to achieve their dream?

The name of the game is expansion and profit.

  1. Hey Opher – an interesting, succinct and alluring synopsis! I like the sound of weird science, alien febrility, galactic conspiracy, otherworldly planets, forgotten hidden realms, and the intervention of heroic deeds. Tis the stuff of sci-fi!

Best of luck with the new book!

  2. Yes the blurb has appeal, although I’m wondering if it either needs less content or simply needs to be expressed differently: more dynamically perhaps? Of course, I don’t know the books story, but, given the blurb as written, (and the striking cover) I imagine it may foreground meta-narratives such as existentialism, human evolution, technology (perhaps even A.I), jump sequences through time and space, and existence of extra-terrestrial life?

If it were a film and not a book, how might the synopsis differ?

      1. One option might be to spend a moment or two reading book and film synopsise and/or back-cover blurb of your favourite sci-fi books to get a feel for how they express with impact.

QF is undoubtedly an exciting sci-fi story, well written, well worth reading, and already benefits from having a striking, attractive wrap-around cover. All you have to do is sell it to me with the blurb!
