I’ve been seeing Crooked Weather for a number of years. They’ve always been very good but they have moved up a gear or two. Tonight was a really great concert.
The band are quite unique marrying folk, psychedelia and unique elements. Holly’s beautiful voice blends well with Will’s. There is a dynamic in the band as Will’s incredible guitarwork drives them through soft, lilting phrasing to driving, energetic crescendos. It is unique.
They are incredibly visual too. Once again Will’s energetic performance contrasts with Holly’s serene stance to create an interesting dynamic that works extremely well. The great drum and bass rhythm section augments them perfectly and provides a lot of power and drive.
The band have become so tight and the song-writing so good that I can see they are on the brink of a breakthrough into a bigger stage. They have all the ingredients.
