Conexion – A Sci-fi novel in process – the liner notes – Comments welcome!

As I start to rewrite my latest Sci-fi novel I am looking for assistance. Any comments, thoughts or contributions are appreciated.

Conexion – The Liner Notes

In the future it is still all about power.

General Secretary Rheen holds the reins but does he hold the power?

What about the shadowy Consortium who supply the money to get him elected?

The separatists who are prepared to use violence?

The Unification Movement who would bring the opposition together?

Or the people who democratically vote?

What of the stranded Starship?

And what of the new drug Conexion that opens genetic memories to unlock an unexpected past?

Or the three massive spherical objects heading for earth?

How will it all come to a conclusion?

  1. Namaste Opher 🙂

This sounds a fascinating story: a complex weave of thrills, spills, and merry mischief amongst the stars – who could ask for more!

Quite where this storyline came from all of sudden: it must be that ever-giving creative mind of yours. To think that you drafted this so quickly, you must have been giddy putting to good use all that energy 🙂

I shall head-on to the 2nd extract. Good luck getting it published! I might even indulge, return the compliment, and invest in an Opher tale. You will of course let us know when it is available?

Best wishes. Hoping all is well.

    Namaste 🙂

    1. Hi Dewin, Yes it all did come together in a rush. It’s funny how that happens. One spark seems to ignite others. Thrilling. But then you are well aware of that experience with your brilliant poems. (still not found time to delve into your great epic). I will let everyone know when it is ready.
      All the best
      Opher

      1. Hey Opher, Namaste 🙂

I recall you commenting once before about the ‘first moment’ when the floodgates open on the ‘great cerebellum’ whilst you stand on that energetic bridge golden in the emerging idea! That is the ‘buzz’ you said, the reason why we write, to experience that rush of energy and excitement – totally oblivious in that moment as to the hard graft required to write the idea out in full – but yet already celebrating the outcome! That’s conviction in action for you! 🙂 I know only a little of this thrilling ride…still in my infancy with the writing, unlike you who are an experienced ‘old hand’ at this book-writing game we called novelling. Title 50 is it? Awesome! 😀

You have read many chapters of my scrawling, crawling, scribbling poem, and I very grateful for your friendship and readership , thank you. The poem is yet to be concluded but once it is, it’ll find its way onto my bookshelf complete with dust-jacket and title to rest alongside The Wizard Of Wands. As an aside, the proof copy of that book – dedicated to a mermaid – ended up in a part-filled aquarium on the very first day I received it! Tis a long story 🙂

Your Sci-fi book is a great achievement irrespective of how and why you got there. I did read extract 2, and will return with thoughts shortly. I enjoyed what was presented but will take a second read and review any first impressions. Sci-fi writing is new to me having read only a handful of novels but I like the informality and relaxed nature of it – a sort of punk feel per se – although I’m not sure I can explain quite what I mean by that.

Anyway, I’d best get this day started in earnest – it seems the sunshine is back in Eons Bach which will please Merlin, a sun-lover, no end lol 🙂

Have a great weekend my friend. Take care of one and all,

        Namaste 🙂

      2. That is indeed why we write Dewin! The buzz of creativity! That coursing of electricity through the brain that makes life meaningful.
I can picture The Wizard of Wands nestling in an aquarium surrounded by curious fish – though I do not think that it will have done it any good.
        Have a great one Dewin!!

I'd like to hear from you...
