Let’s put aside all our differences. Leave politics and religion to one side; forget race, age, gender and culture; forget our fears, passions, hatred, loyalties and even our loves and desires – just be.
Pretend that we are new and are opening our eyes for the first time.
It does not matter how you view the world or where you think you are going. That is of no consequence. What is going to happen or why that is.
Just open your eyes and look around. Isn’t this stupendous?
We are standing on the thin crust of a molten planet under a sun, moon and sky full of a trillion stars.
We have air to breathe, food in our bellies and we are clothed and comfortable. We have friends, lovers and family. We have music, dance, art, literature and all that is creative. Nothing is threatening us right at this minute. Bask in it. Feel replete.
Above us the sky is beautiful and blue, the plants are green and the sun shines with constant warmth and light. Birds fly, insects chirp, and creatures drink in the same wonder.
Not only that but we have eyes to see, ears to hear and a mind to stretch out in the delight of it all.
This is life. This is what we take for granted. But this is a marvel, a delight and a wonder. It is a mystery and a conundrum.
Why spoil it with division? Enjoy it for what it is. Even if it is all we have it is more than enough.
This is life – ours to fill. This is mystery, wonder and awe enough for a lifetime. We don’t have to sully it with tribal allegiance, answers, questions or beliefs – just soak it in. Who cares what it means – it is! That should be enough.
It is ours. We need to cherish and look after it.
This is the moment.
Delight in it.
This is life.

‘ A little Madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King ,
But God be with the Clown—
Whose ponders this tremendous scene–
This whole Experiment of Green–
As if it were his own! ‘
Heaven forbid (if I am, as an antitheist, allowed a slightly religious exclamation).
It’s so important to be thankful for all the amazing things we do have!!
Sometimes in the midst of our lives, the frustrations, angers and loves, we forget. Then it’s time to reconnect.
Hope you are settling in! Unpacked your thermals, gloves, anorak and boots?
Yeah I’m settling in pretty well! Hehe I unpacked them but it’s really hot right now so they’re useless for now!
Things will change.
