Photography – Jersey – 2nd World War German Defences

The Channel Islands were the only part of Britain taken by the Germans in the war. The island was covered with fortifications, tunnels and gun defences built by the Germans to stop Britain invading.

  1. We will be stopping on Guernsey on our cruise. Have you ever read “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer? Written in a series of letters that takes place during the war. I loved it.

    1. Hi Cheryl – I haven’t read that – sounds interesting.
You’ll love Guernsey if you get a chance to have a walk up on the cliffs.

      1. I am not cross, I had a good laugh – I can do that from time to time. I only get cross with you when you are so stubborn,

      2. I’m always stubborn. You know that. I am opinionated and passionate. Never mind – I do my best. But you are as stubborn as me, Anna. But that’s no reason to get cross either. Laughing’s good.

      3. Are you saying I am stubborn, that is unbelievable that you could slander me like that. Don’t worry I am kidding, yes I am stubborn that is why we clash. I had to become stubborn I guess it was the only way that I could have survived all that went on back then.
