I will forever wonder what would have happened in the camps of the Holocaust has the Jewish people reacted that way. Threw themselves in harm’s way and just kept coming. In most of those camps there were so few guards to so many captives. I’ve never been able to understand that. I guess that’s why that era of history fascinates me. I don’t understand it.
There is a mass psychology at work I think. The Nazis were very clever at manipulating them, giving them just enough hope. Visiting Dachau was an experience that sticks with me.
