Boris Johnson 2013 – “I’m in favour of the single market.”

This is a video clip from Boris Johnson in 2013 telling us that he wants to stay in the EU. That he is in favour of the single market.

The man only has eyes for Number 10. He’s prepared to sell his granny to get there! What an opportunist!

Trawl down to under Corbyn and play the clip there. See how he’s changed his tune.

“I’m in favour of the single market.”

“I want us to trade freely with our European friends and partners.”

  1. He is not the only Tory to swing 180 on this. It’s becoming a bit of a yo-yo.
However, if he was after no. 10, aren’t the risks that he now imposes upon himself, quite heavy, given the statements of economists, business industry leaders and just yesterday by car manufacturers (that he would know about before hand, I’m sure) ?
If the vote goes Remain, he might be left stranded with his trousers down.
Considering Labour have little hope of getting into power in the foreseeable future, wouldn’t it have been safer for him to hang in with Remain, wait for Cameron to pack up and then take his place. That is of course based on rumours that Cameron has had enough and wants to move on.
I wouldn’t know the truth of that.
I’m beginning to think that he actually does believe that Brexit is the way to go and that factor is just maybe one furlong ahead of any no.10 aspirations.
I think it is a strange tactic to play given the circumstances.

However, on another angle of consideration, I also don’t think the public will actually hold it against either Remain or Brexit as at least they actually had the opportunity to have a say in the matter and a good thing, too.
Perhaps he acknowledges this also. I’m sure he does as I’m only conveying my observations and what would I know that he doesn’t – nothing at all.

There will of course be others also presenting themselves for candidacy.

I’m therefore, uncommitted to being able to accept his actions are simply that of no. 10.

    1. Naw – he’s a power-mad chancer. Always has been. This was his best opportunity. It’s all or nothing.
I think Cameron has always had a few lucrative deals ahead. He’ll be glad to get out. It’s all down to who is next in line. I don’t think Boris was in line.

      1. But didn’t he do a pretty good job as Mayor of London?
At least that was the impression I got.

      2. Not as bad as I expected – though a lot of daft publicity stuff and things that didn’t work. But then if you do stuff some things fail.

      3. You don’t think they are all like that, only themselves matter even Corbyn. Such hypocrisy of Labour to want into the EU soon changed their mind didn’t they.

  2. If the choice presented itself … trade with European sub-human apes or trade with Africans? Not even a question. The sub-human apes not even on a leash ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww. LOL

    1. I’ll ignore the disrespectful racism and give it the contempt it deserves.
One minute you are complaining about how the Jews have been treated but you are all too keen to deal out the same to others??
It’s what the Nazis did wasn’t it? They labelled the Jews subhuman and then set about exterminating them. First comes the name calling……
