“We all start out knowing magic. We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us. We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds and see our destiny in grains of sand. But then we get the magic educated right out of our souls. We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out. We get put on the straight and narrow path and told to be responsible. Told to act our age. Told to grow up, for God’s sake. And you know why we were told that? Because the people doing the telling were afraid of our wildness and youth, and because the magic we knew made them ashamed and sad of what they’d allowed to wither in themselves.” – Robert R. McCammon
With Love From Wendy – put this up on her blog. I liked it but could not find a reblog so I copied it.
Sorry Wendy. I left a message. But this is great. You can read the original and words from Wendy on her site. Check it out.
Being a wild child was fun. Where though has the reblog gone? Am now back at Navasola with little wifi but lots of trees and finally the sun has come out!
Sounds good Georgina. Are you having Solstice in Spain?
Well, the days are still longer here but yes we are here for all the festive season. First time away from UK but some friends will come out!
That sounds great. Our best Solstice was in Mexico in a small mining town with our young kids. We had a great time.
Thank you for sharing!
No – thank you for putting it out there
