I have been blogging for just over a year. That seems a good time to re-evaluate.
So, as it is impossible for me to be objective how about letting me know what you think has worked or not?
I have given full reign to my ideas, thoughts and creativity. The end result is a bit of a dog’s dinner. I wonder if it works?
My philosophy is to communicate, to build a new zeitgeist, to be stimulating, controversial and interesting. I want to be relevant and influential. I want an outlet for my creativity. I want to draw wider attention to my books in the hopes that you might be tempted to buy them, read them and be turned on by them.
Here’s the general themes:
- My books and writing
- Rock music – genres, bands, lyrics, photos
- My photographs
- My poetry
- My art
- Politics and the things that grab my attention
- Religion – antitheism and my opinions
- Beat poetry
- The environment – the Anthropocene Apocalypse that I see destroying the environment
- Odds and sods of things that appeal to me
- Awe and wonder
What is it that you enjoy?
What doesn’t work?
Is there too much?
Is it annoying to get so many posts?
Do you want more?
Whatever your views are I’d like to hear from you. I do listen. It’s great to be getting so much response – nearly 3000 followers is incredible.
(A little while ago I was contemplating breaking the blog into different blogs – I was advised not to. So I didn’t)
So drop us a reply! Cheers Opher.

No don’t! As I like the music stuff but I mainly link to environmental blogs. Then loved your Anthropocene Apocalypse and the final straw being your involvement in education! Am back in the UK for Cropredy! Got to get some music in.
An essential if ever there was one! I’ve missed out on Cropredy! Thanks for your reply. It seems you appreciate a range. That’s good. Enjoy your festival – I hope the weather stays fine! All the best Opher
Thanks and weather in Spain is too fine….
Changeable here I’m afraid. But the weather in my writing is equally up and down!
Well, at least you have weather in your writing. My writing seems to be more whether or not! Hope to finish a short piece this week….
I’m presently struggling to rewrite a Sci-fi novel that I wrote back in 1973. The trouble is that it is 400 pages of typed manuscript. As I’m a one-finger typist it’s a bit daunting and it’s taking a lot of rewriting into the bargain. Sometimes I get depressed at the thought. It seems a bit pointless as there isn’t over much interest from anywhere anyway. I guess that’s my weather!
I might do a short blog about as a bit of catharsis! Hope things are good with you. I’ll look forward to your piece! Best wishes Opher.
Keep going. («I don’t fear death, because I’ve been writing.» Tanikawa Shuntarō)
Cheers Matt. Still going; still writing. Best wishes Opher
