My blog is one year old today! Thank you to my hundreds of followers from 112 different countries! You are amazing. Thank you for all your thousands of likes (they give me strength and encouragement) and all you brilliant comments (I know how hard it is to find time to communicate in this busy world – but that is the reason we do this and I love to hear from you). I hope my blog has made you think, inspired you, given you some beauty, enjoyment and wonder.
It is toddling along and beginning to speak! I am so proud of it. It will grow up and change the world. But then I think every parent thinks their child is exceptional.
An anniversary is an opportunity for a reassessment. What has this blog achieved?
It has been a vent for my creativity. I have published my poems, extracts of writing, philosophy, art, photography and ideas.
It has been an outlet for my anger and fury at what we are doing to this planet, the cruelty, war, fundamentalism and stupidity.
It has allowed me to share and created relationships with people I almost think I know.
It has given you a clear idea of what I am all about – the good, the bad and the ugly (most people say that I’ve more of the latter!).
It has advertised (very unsuccessfully) my books.
It has hopefully added to a positive zeitgeist that will change the world for the better.
So – has it been worth it?
Probably you are the best judge of that. This is my 975th post (I had hoped to do a 1000 in this year but I have fallen short!). I have had a lot of enjoyment out of it and it has been interesting thinking of inspirations for new posts.
So Happy Birthday to you Blog! Many happy returns!

Congratulations!
All the best,
– Gol
