The roads in Saigon were packed with scooters. A lot of the riders wore smog masks. Sometimes there were huge loads heaped on. Sometimes whole families with toddlers in sunglasses holding the handlebars. Often the mother would have a crash-helmet but the child wouldn’t. If you wanted to cross the road you stepped out and walked at a steady pace as they weaved around you.
