Someone pressed pause
And we were trapped in a hiatus.
Time stood still.
The world went quiet.
Deserted streets and eerie stillness,
Shut shops, parked cars,
Invisible people.
Activity nil.
Nature watched,
Taking stock,
Bemused.
Could it be?
The zombie apocalypse
Has freed the world
Of the stranglehold
Of humanity?
Except,
It was just
Temporary.
