Egypt – Into the fertile plains of the Nile delta.

The green fields were are stark contrast to the barren hills. We were still in largely preindustrial agriculture with horse and cart and beasts of burden.

There wasn’t much to see in Safaga but the mountains looked beautiful in the early morning sunlight.

Manilla in the Phillippines – Farewell!!

Past the avenue of Presidents, Rizal Park, the colourful busses to a big send-off on the docks. Of into the sunset with a last look back to the city.

Yorkshire Dales – Down into Malham – The stupendous Cove and countryside

Going down the steps sure jars the knees!

The cove is magnificent and the countryside wonderful.

Manilla – inside the Museum.

Fascinating to wander through the Manilla museum. One gets a glimpse into the past – the art, the gods, weapons and instruments of a life that no longer exists. But it can fuel the imagination.

The incredible limestone escarpment at Malham Cove

You walk through these beautiful green hills to arrive at the top of Malham Cove. The amazing limestone escarpment is laid out before you in an array of jigsaw patterns. I think it’s gorgeous!
