The dilemma for the new government!

Labour has inherited a right mess here and there aren’t any easy fixes. The Tories have really broken Britain and left a terrible mess. I reckon we’re looking at a decade at least to fix this mess.

a. The Economy is flat-lining – Brexit is costing us £100 billion a year. Investment has dried up. There is no money.

b. Public Services are broken. There isn’t a public service that’s in a good shape – NHS, Schools, Prisons, Courts, Youth Service, Carers, Police, Councils – everything is in crisis. We have shortages of staff, cuts in funding, poor buildings and morale through the floor. Fourteen years of robbery; fourteen years of cuts, fourteen years of austerity, fourteen years of pay restraint (pay cuts), have brought all the services to their knees. The Tories have been systematically robbing public services to give to the wealthy – VIP lanes, CEO pay, tax loopholes, huge wastage during covid, crazy expensive covid schemes, cash for donors…… There aren’t enough Dentists, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Carers, Prison Officers, Police, Army or Council Workers. We have potholes, expensive crap care, an NHS on its knees, impossibility of getting a dentist or doctor’s appointment, no support staff, creaking buildings, smallest army ever…….

c. Privatised Industries Not Working – all the national industries that the Tories privatised – Gas, Electricity, Rail, Water, Post Office – are underperforming, putting prices up to ridiculous levels, and paying ridiculous salaries to CEOs and bonuses, and huge sums to investors (mostly abroad). We have sewage in the water, eye-watering bills, cost of postage at ridiculous levels, rail fares and services at ridiculous levels and employees on poor pay.

d. Worker’s Pay – pay has been squeezed – unless you happen to be a Tory donor, CEO or wealthy Tory. Pay is not keeping up with costs.

e. Cost of Living Crisis – unless you are a Tory MP (ex MP), with fingers in many pies and an income in millions, you cannot find the money for increases in food, gas, electricity, petrol, rail, water, internet, TV and life. That is why Food Banks are the only things that are working.

f. Levelling Up – whole regions of the country have been left to rot. All that bluster from Johnson was bluster and lies.

The Tories have been lining their own pockets at our expense!!

How on earth is an incoming government supposed to deal with this mess???

Why I am voting tactically to get rid of the Tories!

The reality is that Brexit has made a huge dent in our finances – a £100 billion a year!! Then we have the Tories messing up the economy, squandering billions on PPE and aps and T&T with massive salaries to their friends, then tax loopholes, VIP Lanes and massive bonuses to Tory privatised companies. They really have broken Britain. Whoever gets in has a massive mess to clear up and that’s going to take time and money! All I want is rid of these greedy, useless, self-serving Tories. They have been filling their own pockets at our expense!

I’m under no illusions. If Labour get in they will have a massive job to do.

The Tories have wrecked our public services (doctors, dentists, nurses, teachers, council workers, midwives, courts, carers, police – all overworked, underpaid and in a state of collapse). Our schools, hospitals, councils, youth services, police, army have been ransacked to give money to the wealthy.

Cameron, Osborne, May, Johnson, Reece-Mogg, Hancock, Raab and the rest have been putting millions into their bank accounts (probably on the Cayman Islands).

They haven’t blocked the tax loopholes because they are using them.

I will vote either Labour, Lib Dem or Green if it means I can help get rid of this corrupt bunch of useless wreckers!! In my opinion they should all be locked up!! What they have done over these last 14 years is criminal!!

It’s no good saying they’re all the same! They aren’t!

It’s no good saying I don’t like Starmer! Neither do I but it’s a choice and he’s far the lesser of two evils!

It’s no good saying they never do what they say! They do! Under Labour education and health were properly funded. It’s the Tories that rob our public services to give to their chums.

There is a clear choice – more of the same corruption or a new start!

Thirteen Years of corruption and incompetence, nasty policies and the lunacy of the far-right ERG, has bankrupt the country! We’re living in Broken Britain!!

The Tories perhaps should not have sold everything off to their wealthy chums and foreign investors? They privatised everything so the rich could get richer and we pay more! Not nothing works!

Perhaps they shouldn’t have given so much away to their rich chums through those VIP lanes, stupid contracts and absurd salaries?

Perhaps they should not have cut all our public services to the bone? Now the NHS, Schools, Councils, Police, Army, Youth Services, Libraries are all failing!!

Perhaps they shouldn’t have brought in a stupid Tory Brexit costing us £100 Billion a year so we haven’t got any money to put things right? No wonder we can’t afford our public services!

Perhaps they should have plugged all those tax scams the wealthy use to avoid paying taxes? They take their millions from bonuses and ridiculous levels of pay off-shore using semi-legal schemes and pay less taxes than a nurse!

Perhaps they shouldn’t have brought in a decade plus of austerity so that all of us have become poorer and poorer while the politicians, CEOs, bankers and investors rake in their millions?

Perhaps they shouldn’t be cutting taxes and should start addressing the ridiculous Cost of Living?

The only growth has been in the bank accounts of the wealthy- they’ve never had it so good! We’re paying for it!

The unsavoury face of uncaring Britain is tossed in the dustbin where she belongs.

Cruella the nasty. A woman whose family came to Britain as immigrants wants to be nastier to immigrants than the rest of her party. She has designs on leadership and is setting her sights on leading the far-right wing – the rabid ERG nutcases.

Haven’t they done enough harm?

They’ve brought down Prime Minister after Prime Minister. They forced us into a disastrous Brexit. They’ve waged war against the public services. They’ve ruined our standing in the world. They’ve infested the British psyche with their xenophobia and racism. Their extreme nationalism is as repulsive as Hitler, Putin and Xi. They’ve created an uncaring divided Britain. They hold the Tory Party to ransom.

Cruella sums up all that is wrong with the Tory Party and the mean-minded, racist electorate who support her and her callousness.

Fortunately, they are a minority.

But that minority wags the dog.

The trouble is that the Tories are a coalition of views. At one end of the spectrum are the one-nation moderates, at the other the foaming fascists. They are held together in a loose coalition through their greed and lust for power.

The fascists are real lunatics. They really do believe that money is all that’s important and that the bulk of the electorate are worthless scum who exist to be exploited. Their arrogance is in line with Trump and the MAGA nutcases. To them any money wasted on the likes of public services, benefits or workers’ pay is wasted money. On the wealthy deserve that cash.

These are the extremists that Cruella is sucking up to – what used to be known as ‘the hang ’em and flog ’em brigade’. They believe that what the working classes need is subsistence pay (to maximise profits) and a good dose of violence to keep them in line. They believe the one-nation Tories are much too soft and that Labour are a bunch of commies. Who needs fairness? Society is a jungle with the survival of the fittest. They are the fittest. So people like Rees-Mogg feel free to make a fortune out of disasters like Covid or Brexit without it troubling his conscience. He deserves it. That’s life. He’s better than the rest of us. We deserve to be at the bottom.

The thing is that both sides of the Tory Party might detest each other but they know they need each other. If the ERG rabid far-right were to split off they know they would be unelectable. The Tommy Robinson’s and the rest of the football hooligans and fascists are only ever (fortunately) a minority. But without that minority of nutcases the one-nation Tories can’t make it into power. They need each other.

It’s exactly the same with Trump and the GOP – except on more of an extreme case. The gun-totin’ MAGA flat-earthers, covid and global warming deniers, with their racism and scorched earth views, are required to get the Republicans into power.

We need a far bigger dustbin!!!

Ken Loach is my favourite Director. He is highly intelligent and his films always have a pertinent social message that I can empathise with. I like films that make you think. Ken is the conscience of the nation. His films should be compulsory – particularly for Tories who are usually incapable of appreciating human suffering.

Maybe if we tell the truth about the past, we can tell the truth about the present.

I see the lies and despair. Brexit and Trump – a litany of hatred and lies. The media and politicians all have their agenda and no scruples. It’s getting worse. The sheeple are treated with utter scorn and manipulated.

A movie isn’t a political movement, a party or even an article. It’s just a film. At best it can add its voice to public outrage.

There’s a hell of a lot of injustice and rage to tap into.

About Thatcher’s death: Let’s privatise her funeral. Put it out on competitive tender and accept the cheapest bid. That’s what she would have wanted.

Such with and humour. I’m glad they buried her. They just did it fifty years too late.

I turned down the OBE because its not a club you want to join when you look at the villains who’ve got it. Its all the things I think are despicable: patronage, deferring to the monarchy and the name of the British Empire, which is a monument of exploitation and conquest.

Not many people with that calibre of integrity. Too many money-grabbing, power-seeking selfish gits who take the money.

One lesson to learn is that the press and the broadcasters are not neutral. And it seems we have to learn it each time there is a dispute: they are actually committed to one side.

Orgreave taught me that even the BBC have their agenda. The bias is there. The establishment orchestrate out feelings.

In the end the privatisation of war is not acceptable. We shouldn’t be issuing these sub-contracts to these contracting companies because the people who run them are making millions. There should be no relationship between ex-politicians and them, like John Reid and Malcolm Rifkind, who are now associated with contracting companies having been ministers of defence. That’s unacceptable.

It is incredible hoe people like Rumsfeldt are raking it in! Should be a law against it!
