What these billionaires want is the right to peddle their propaganda as truth! Free Speech should be fact checked! Licence to say what you like even if it is deliberately untrue is NOT free speech.

Or perhaps more accurately, who will protect us from the “protectors?” There is a major problem with “fact checking,” and that problem is that it has become politicized. One man’s “fact” ought to be the same as another’s. But that is not so today.
Speaking as a champion of truly free speech, I must be able to say what I want, as long as it doesn’t incite violence, fraud or coercion. It is up to my audience to judge what is fact and what is not, and to react to my statements as they think fit.
That is a problem but I’m sure it should be possible to put in safeguards.
I don’t agree on fact checking. You see this with Trump, Vance and Musk all the time. They could out with crap that is very easily proved to be bullshit. I’m not referring to opinion – verifiable facts!
