Africa’s First Female President Bans FGM on Her Last Day in Office

Great news from Global Citizen. It is long overdue that this disgusting practice is stopped.

  1. Namaste Opher 🙂

    Excellent news!

May this mark the end of Patriarchal dominion and senseless, worthless, violence against women across the African nations. Domestic violence is not tolerable in any part of the world: no man-made philosophy should supersede the rights of an individual. There is absolutely no justification whatsoever to support the need for FGM.

    Namaste 🙂

      1. It is the speed at which progressive change occurs that I find extraordinarily frustrating. People are so deeply indoctrinated in outdated culture, outdated values and outdated mentalities that forward movement is thwarted so often by challenged dinosaurs still living in the dark ages who command positions of authority with influence to perpetuate madness within the masses. As is often the case, those who dictate terms to others do so by forcing their will upon others, expressing their sentiment rather than aligning themselves with the real values and wishes of the People. The suffering these individuals inflict on the common man is vile and intolerable. In 2018 there is no room in any nation for despotic rulers who cling to what they know rather than embracing something new and progressive. for the good of the vast majority.

The World will continue to be very sick whilst governed by sick mentalities flowing from deranged individuals with sick poisoned minds.

World Social Revolution cannot happen quick enough. Take up your pitchforks and your flaming torches and march on the power centres of the world with the intention of removing them from life.

        Love and Peace, Namaste 🙂

      2. Dewin – I’m engaged on one forum with people who argue that the holocaust didn’t take place. The world is full of mad people. We are being led by greedy, selfish people who believe their own racism and misogyny. It is a slow process moving forward. We have to keep plugging away.

      3. We are living in the Tower of Babel, where the one common language we could call Truth is displaced by stinking liars with gutter-snipe mentalities and amoebic minds stuffed full with ignorance.

I got the same reaction from folk at work the other day having aired the fact that 85 people have now died as a direct result of financial cuts to the NHS by the mad-bitch May. No-one reacted with any degree of interest whatsoever except one person who suggested they let it all go over their head: it meant nothing to them. This is a typical reaction from those holding on to myopic self-centred world-views and highlights not just ignorance but apathy towards the world we live in. I cannot understand why people remain blind to the wickedness and evil permeating society promoted by those mixing and breeding within the devil’s own satanic herd.

Division is clearly occurring more quickly within the UK and Civil War is regrettably inevitable. The UK is riddled with maggots who share the Tory vision: perhaps they won’t be laughing when the vast majority take everything away from them in one swift metaphysical Night of The Long Knives. Fascist supporters and fascist sympathisers have no place whatsoever in a modern progressive society. It is they who need educating in the most direct and meaningful way: and that to remove their materialistic lives from them and redistribute the wealth to those who have nothing.

I trust you are venting your spleen appropriately and using direct, fundamental language that cuts to their very core.

        Love and Peace. Namaste 🙂

      4. Dewin I am certainly not holding back. Fascists need confronting and putting down. It is amazing to me that there still are Nazi sympathisers and Holocaust deniers. They appall me.

  2. No one could say this should be banned, and God knows it still goes on in this Country, despite Parliament trying to have it stopped. There are people living here, in what we regard as a Democratic Country, certain individuals still suibject their yoiung Daughters to such barbaric behaviour.
What shocks me is it took this woman, this President TWELVE years and her Last Day in office to ban FGM. Instead of accepting applause and congratulating herself, she should be embarrassed it took her so long. I expect you will not agree with this para.

    1. It think you mean should not be banned don’t you Anna? Yes it still goes on here too and it really needs stamping out everywhere.
Yes it is a travesty that she didn’t ban it for twelve years. But I bet there were problems with doing so. It is so entrenched. I’m not sure of the details of why it took so long. It sure should have happened years ago. I saw a programme on it a few weeks back and the local communities still carried it out even though it was illegal. It is quite difficult to change minds. But minds need changing.

      1. I saw a programme not the one you saw, what I saw on tv was quite some time ago and I had to look away as they assaulted (I can’t say what I want to say) the little girl, I still remember her screams they were horrific. That took place in this Country, done by a Private Doctor.

Opher not too sure what you meant by “it think you mean should not be banned don’t you Anna?” There can be no doubt in any sensible person’s mind that these atrocities must end, of course banned. I abhor all violence to Animals, I abhor all violence to Children.

      2. I think I saw that one too. It was horrendous. Too horrible to think about. Those poor little girls maimed with a razor blade. Sickening.
I was just referring to your previous comment. The wording was a bit ambiguous, that’s all. I got the meaning though.
