The need for a Global Government!

Anybody with any sense can see that we have to move on from our tribal past into a more universal position. That means doing away with the primitive tribal ideas of nations and races and moving towards a more advanced global position. That is obvious!
As for the UN – that is a brilliant idea that has a number of flaws:
a. It has not got the funding or clout to deal with the terrible wars and conflicts that keep cropping up between nations.
b. We still maintain national huge armies and hold on to outmoded views of sovereignty and patriotism and are reluctant to allow a global force to intervene.
c. We haven’t solved the checks and balances required to prevent a powerful global government from becoming an unassailable dictatorship.
It’ll happen.
We can’t wallow in the Dark Ages forever. One day we have to become properly civilised or wipe ourselves out!

Before and After – Misogyny in action!!

Misogyny straight out of the Dark Ages!!

Women in Iran – before the 1979 revolution – studying for a future as equals.

After the 1979 revolution – second-class citizens with no education, no rights and a greatly reduced life.

This is religion in action – misogyny and severe control.

Iran: Woman whipped 74 times for not covering her head | Latest News | WION – YouTube

Brave women protest this primitive draconian misogyny from the Dark Ages. Not all women want to be shackled and coerced!! The religious thugs in Iran, Afghanistan and other Islamic countries who enforce this vile restriction on women have blood on their hands!!

Britain on a journey out of the Dark Ages of Superstition and Racism! Or are we?

A survey of the UK found that for the first time since the Dark Ages over half the country (55%) said they were not religious! Only 34% said they were Christian. With only 7% claiming to be of another religion (Islam, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Jedi). So much for us being swamped with Muslim immigrants.

Religion is on the decline and has been for a long time. The superstition, based on fear, is waning fast.

Which leads me to ask why, in a secular country, do we still have religious education in our schools? Why do we have a religious Thought For Today instead of a humanist one? Why do we have that ridiculous act of worship on Radio 4? Surely we should balance the books and not seek to brainwash people?

The sooner we put a stop to the religious schools trying to brainwash kids the better!! All these Christian, Muslim and Jewish religious schools are trying to batter young brains with medieval gobbledegook. It’s time that was regarded as what it is – child abuse!

Likewise, race. Britain is multicultural. Has been for a long time. We’ve benefitted so much from a richness of culture – Huegenot, Jewish, Arab, Caribbean, African, Chinese, European, Indian and Tibetan (Etc). They all bring something of worth – whether that be food, words, fashion, art, ideas, literature, music, dancing or poetry. We are all so much the richer.

I thought we’d got past the idea of colour by now. It’s not the colour that’s important but the content of the character, surely?

Seemingly not. Some of the older, or more cerebrally challenged, still hark back to Darker Days.

The UK is a secular, multiracial country! The sooner we realise that, the better!!

Science Vs Superstition

Science

Science has only really got on its feet these last two hundred years. Before that we were in the Dark Ages.

The enlightenment took place in the eighteenth century. Only then was superstition replaced by science; only then was science free to really investigate the natural world; only then were scientists able to reveal the truth without fear of being burnt at the stake for heresy.

So we were able to say that the Earth orbits the sun; that we are not the centre of the universe, below us was magma, not hell, above us were a trillion galaxies, not heaven.

In two hundred years we went from horse and cart and candle, to electric lights, Maserati’s, space stations and trips to Mars.

We understood evolution, genetics, DNA, atoms, viruses, black holes and quasars. We found out about quarks, nuclear energy and how to vaccinate against killer diseases. We invented telephones, satellites, TV, computers and instant communication.

Back in 1800, when people just had prayer and herbs, life expectancy at birth was 35 years. 25% were dead before the age of 5 years old.

Today life expectancy for men is 79 years and for women is 83 years.

That is due to science discovering bacteria and viruses leading to better sanitation; to science creating vaccinations that have eradicated killer diseases like smallpox, polio and tuberculosis; science creating better medicines and treatments and science creating better food and living conditions.

Prayer and herbs did not work. Science does!

The only way that 8 billion of us can survive on this planet is due to science – not prayer or herbs.

Unfortunately we have not rid ourselves of superstition. It still holds us back. The religious fanatics forsake science for belief. They mistakenly believe that you can banish covid with prayer, that vaccination is unnecessary, that social distancing and masks are not necessary.

That’s why they are dying in droves in the southern states of the USA. They refuse to believe in science. They don’t believe in evolution and many of them still think the Earth is flat.

Science has even studied stupidity – unfortunately it has not yet found a cure for it!

While certain people believe that truth and education are commie plots there is no hope for humanity!

Science is powerful but it can’t educate the profoundly stupid!

The famous historian A J P Taylor was asked when the Dark Ages ended. He replied that they hadn’t yet; we were still living in them.

Let’s hope that we don’t get another Trump undermining science and experts for his own ends and promoting superstition, fake news and propaganda in order to gain wealth and hold on to power.

Let’s hope science prevails over ignorance!! Even the Taliban use mobile phones and Kalashnikovs.
