I wish we had songwriter/singers who were tackling the social situations of today. You would have thought that with Trump, Johnson, Conspiracy, Fake News, Propaganda, the rise of right-wing fascism, racism and the trashing of the environment there would be more than enough grist for the mill.
Phil Ochs, Roy Harper and the early Dylan were writing superb songs with real content. I don’t hear anything comparable – except maybe with Sean Taylor.
