Always makes me shake my head. Everywhere you go around the world it’s the same.
Fortresses, destruction and war.
How much wealth is spent on such negative things?
Why can’t we all get along without killing each other?
Build things up.
Knock things down.
There is no hope for us.
We are supposed to be intelligent!

It always fills me with disgust when I look at the past. Everywhere you go there are castles, forts, cannons and instruments of torture. So much energy has been put into fighting, killing and creating agony.
If only, instead of being ruled by greed and power, we had put our energies into positive things the world would be so much better!!
Protecting the city of Porto there were a series of forts. They remain as symbols of just how violent we are as a species. If only our efforts were put into positive things. What a world we could create!
