An altercation between two puffins while the cause of the dispute looks on.

Fighting over a woman?? Looks like it! At first I thought it was a mating display but I don’t think so.

Puffins at Bempton Cliffs!

I only found a few puffins on the cliffs and they were a long way off but I did manage to get a few shots!

Cliffs teeming with nesting birds! Photos

Fantastic to see so many gorgeous birds nesting on these cliffs – gannets, guillemots, razor-bills, gulls, shags and puffins. I don’t know how they manage to perch on such narrow ledges let alone stop their eggs and hatchlings from falling to their doom!

Quite a sight!!

Puffins, Gannets and cliffs at Bempton Yorkshire

We visited the wonderful nature reserve at Bempton. There were puffins, gannets, razorbills, guillemots and others.

The Farne Islands – A bird sanctuary! Puffins.

The rock faces rose sheer out of the water, stained white with guano and green with algae. On every available ledge and surface a mass of seabirds nested. Fantastic to see.

The Farne Islands and incredible Birdlife.

We were lucky enough to get across to the Farne Islands. As a group of islands they are pretty splendid but when you add in the wildlife it was spectacular! I’ve never seen such huge colonies of seabirds!
