I’m a Socialist because I believe in Fairness.

I don’t want to live in a society where a few have billions while others starve!

I don’t think that capitalism works for ordinary people. It was designed to favour the wealthy.

I don’t think that conservative values work.

I don’t believe in Jesus or any religion.

I don’t believe in nationalism.

I don’t believe that some people are better than others because of where they were born or the colour of their skin or what they believe in.

I believe in a meritocracy and fair reward, not obscene reward.

I believe all people are equally important.

I think that the Evangelists are hypocrites! They support fascist’s like Trump to get what they want and put their own morality to one side.

I believe that conservatives are selfish and greedy.

I believe that conservative people are cold, callous, uncaring and lacking in empathy.

I do not believe that conservatives care about other people.

I want to live in a world of fairness, justice, compassion, empathy and tolerance.

That’s why I am a liberal socialist!

Trump exhibits all the things I despise – hypocrisy, lies, immorality, greed, cruelty, vengefulness, nastiness, uncaring, completely lacking in compassion, vicious, selfish and arrogant.

The Republican Party’s Existential Choice

There is a stark choice for the Republican Party:

a. Do they go with the Trumpists, QAnon, white supremacists, neo-Nazis, fake news and conspiracy

b. Do they go back to traditional conservative values.

There is the Marjorie Taylor Greene version – believe the QAnon conspiracy – the Democrats are all Satan worshipping paedophiles who eat babies, storm the Capitol and shoot Nancy Pelosi in the Head.

Or Liz Cheney and small government, low taxes and conservative values.

It seems to me that there is going to be a battle for the heart and soul of the party.

Personally I think Greene is an ignorant imbecile who is a danger to democracy and Cheney is just simply wrong.

What is needed is a more equal society, progressive taxes and far better public services – particularly education. If education was better we would not have so many deluded Americans ready to believe the earth is flat.
