The cover for this book has been a bit of a problem. I wanted to use a painting of mine of the actual flat that I based the book on. The only problem was that I had already used the painting for The Book of Ginny.
This is the painting of the living room I wanted to use that had already been used on The Book of Ginny.
This is one of the bedroom that did not seem quite right for this book – too girlie.
This is the only other one I had from the flat.
So I had a think. I decided to combine two painting and thus create a different effect to that of the Ginny one.
I think it will work. The title bar will go across most of the bottom painting. I think it will look different enough to Ginny to work. We’ll see.
What do you think?
I’m presently thinking of using the one on the left. I toyed with the one on the right.

What about changing the colours of the central items on the one on the right? I think it would be possible using Microsoft Paint, if you have that.
Not quite with you. What do you mean by the central items? And what colour?
Perhaps the 2 chairs and floor rug. Any colour you like to differentiate from the previously used original.
Right. I see what you mean. I’ll go and have a look at Ginny and have a play about to see if that works.
Right – I’ve tried a couple of permutations of that. The trouble is that the cover of Ginny actually pretty much does that. It is basically the two chairs and rug. Changing the tint creates a difference but alters the feel of it being Danny’s flat. I’ve gone back to the one on the left. I’ll try it with the title over it in yellow or red and see if that works.

That’s how the cover came about.
