The Tracks of our Ignorance

We set off through the town, leaving the armed guards behind, looking for a bus to take us to Belem. Eventually we found one. It was cheap but took us on a roundabout route through every slum town on the way. I took some photos through the window as we went. It looked pretty dirty and grim, rubbish everywhere, rundown streets.
Trashing the environment!!
Yesterday, while I was taking my walk, I took some shots of the rubbish people were dumping. There were all manner of things – but mostly cans of beer. In the summer there were the wrappers and trays from take-away meals. Some people chuck out plastic bags of rubbish. There have even been dumped fridges and rubble.
Some of the rubbish is simply thrown out of a car window as they belt through. Some has been deliberately dumped. Some pople have driven to a place with a gorgeous view, stopped to eat their lunch and then simply dumped the rubbish out of the car door.
Why travel to somewhere beautiful to make it a rubbish dump.
