Art and Music

Art and music

Dance and poems.

Death and agony,

Prayer and omens.

Dispensing justice

Arbitrary pain.

Extracting a price

For every gain.

Maladjusted monkeys,

Psychotic apes,

Believing they’re superior

Reality gapes.

Dressed in gladrags

Sipping beer,

Pretending sophistication

While despising the queer.

Welling in confusion;

A jigsaw of mad;

Good and bad – black and white,

No sanity to be had.

We create. We destroy.

We elect the very worst.

We wander. We love.

But all we do is cursed!

Opher – 27.12.2024

Once again I am struck by the dichotomy of our nature. We are capable of great love, wisdom and creativity yet spend our time in destructive viciousness.

We make high art, ballet and write astounding novels them bomb babies and slaughter the wildlife.

We are demented, psychotic apes with brains too unstable. Our intelligence is our greatest strength and our biggest weakness.

I suspect it will lead to our downfall.

Human (at our best)

Human (at our best)

Collecting dreams;

                Changing scenes to words.

Playing with letters

                We have imagined,

                                To make new dreams.

Drawing lines

                On paper

To create images in mands.

Taking photos

                We pretend

                                Are real.

Plucking strings,

                Banging drums

                                In rythms.

Moving bodies

                To express

                                And feel.

For tales, art, music and dance

                Are what it means

                                To be human.

It’s universal.

At our best we paint and draw, tell tales around campfires, make music, dance and sing together. We adorn, we decorate and we create.

All over the world we are the same.

At our best we create.

Art, Music and Dance.

Dance is how we decorate movement
