Germanwings – a tragedy that is too enormous to contemplate. What about the parents of the co-pilot and his ex-girlfriend? How must they feel?

It must be terrible to be the parent, friend or relative of one of the victims. It is bad enough when an accident occurs but to know that someone deliberately flew that plane into a mountain. That is an added emotion that must be hard to take. I do not think you ever get over things like that.

My thoughts and condolences go out to the co-pilot’s parents and ex-girlfriend. They were grieving for a dead son and boyfriend who was tragically killed in an air accident and now have to change all their thinking and confront the fact that he was a mass murderer.

The parents went out to the Alps to grieve with all the others. They were segregated off and their whole life turned upside down. What cocktail of emotions must be going through their head? How do you come to terms with that?

The ex-girlfriend, who seems to be portrayed as a catalyst for the tragedy, must also be going through hell.

I hope they are all receiving the support and counselling they require. It is bad enough losing a son and friend but to have to come to terms with what he has done and feel responsible in unbearable. My heart goes out to them.
