The nasty self-serving greed of populists like Trump, Johnson and Bolsonaro cannot be underestimated. Trump might be stupid but he is putting in a plan. He’s using xenophobia, racism and fear of immigrants and Muslims along with the poverty and job situation to appeal to the ignorant.
