Coming out of the Taroko gorge we found ourselves up in the mountains. There was a pagoda and temple up in the mountains with a large gold or white buddha.

The temple of Wat Traimit, houses a solid gold buddha. It weighs 5.5 tonnes and is nearly ten feet tall. Quite hefty. It used to be covered in plaster so nobody would steal it.
