You deal with bullying by identifying it, having a communications network, a means of anonymous posting, a bully box, an email address, good student/teachers relationships, a culture of listening and valuing, a culture of taking action and plenty of time, love and care.
Then you have to process it thoroughly!
It involves listening to both sides, not being biased or prejudiced. It involves discussing, mediating, finding the root cause, creating empathy, counselling and finding the way forward – to reconcile and build bridges.
It is not a two minute job.
Threats create further resentment and displacement behaviour.
it requires skilled staff who love, care and want to make a difference.
It requires time.
