I hate Christmas songs – sickly and annoying.
This one was a bit different.
John Lennon and Yoko Ono were castigated and ridiculed for their bed-ins, bag-ins, acorns and publicity hype. But I greatly admire them. I think they were greatly misunderstood.
They had more money and fame than they needed. They decided to try to do something positive with their fame. They decided to put all their efforts into stopping the stupid, illegal, cruel war in Vietnam.
They used the power of their fame to draw attention to the war. What could be much better than that?
How rare is it for someone with that wealth, power and influence to attempt to do something positive?
