In the churchyard at Rudston, there is a massive neolithic monolith, supposedly the largest in the whole of Britain. It is as much underground as it is over! How they got this massive rock into place is incredible to think.
I bet there was a stone circle where the church is now. The Christians had a habit of desecrating pagan sites.
I love to connect with ancient Neolithic sites. They resonate. Shame about the church.
