I used to go to see bands like Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Free and Fleetwood Mac for less than 25p in small clubs. They were great.
I used to go to three day festivals for less than £2 to see Hendrix, Cream, Traffic, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, Doors, and hosts of others.
I regularly went to free festivals with Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Blind Faith, Edgar Broughton, King Crimson – you name them – all for free!
It was our music.
We were all together – part of a scene. You’d go and talk to the musicians. The music was part of the vibe.
Now the whole scene is about money. It’s a rip-off. Exploitation!! They are all a bunch of conmen! Music has no soul.
