I was only a kid when I heard Hey Joe on the radio. It blew me away. A totally different sound. Then it was one thing after another – all equally mind-blowing. That first album was just unadulterated power.
I got to see him three times live. The most exciting act I’ve ever seen (up there with Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band, Roy Harper, Neil Young and Son House).
